Hi there! My name is Clayton Herbert. I have been a Mortgage Professional since 2003. Prior to entering the mortgage industry, I ran my own real estate agency. Working with people who don’t know the process of buying a home is what I love to do. Whether you have been denied, have not had much luck with credit, or have no credit, showing them the way has always been what I have done best. When someone leaves my office, they are on their way to homeownership. A few minutes and some guidance are all most people need and I give them that. Buying a home can be stressful, but it should be one of the happiest days of your life. My favorite thing to say to people is ‘It is only paperwork and there is no need to stress.’ People are not just a number, a transaction, or a loan, they are my priority. When I am helping them, nothing else matters until we achieve their goal.
I have been a selectman previously, a part-time police officer for 20 years, a member of the Lions Club, been involved with several fundraisers for children, and even ran a fundraiser with two of my friends. I was a football and baseball coach for several years. Then I was president, vice president, and just a member of many professional groups. All of this is wonderful, but the most important to me are Faith, Family, Friends, and people who come into my life.
I have been a top producer for many years earning several awards and trips. All the wonderful people around me, my clients, previous co-workers, managers, friends, and family’s support allowed me to succeed in the mortgage industry.
I feel I am a blue-collar guy in a white-collar industry. Most of my close friends are hardworking individuals who work for highway departments, factories, railroads, automotive shops, carpenters, electricians, contractors, HVAC, and law enforcement and they are the best people you could ever know. We build cars, remodel our homes, build sheds, decks, and many other things. Spending time doing things like this with friends and family is relaxing, not to mention I have learned how to do many things.
My wife is a phlebotomist, my daughter is an emergency room nurse, my son is in the navy and my other son is a landscaper. I have a great son-in-law with two amazing grandchildren. I recently took up walking with my dog Leroy who is thinking finally you’re doing what you promised me. I have 6 brothers and 1 sister and we are close, along with all our nephews and nieces. My cousins are awesome and stay in touch, knowing and not wondering how life would have been without each other.
Life is great and the people around you just make it better. I have been blessed with having such a great family, friends, co-workers, clients or people I just meet every day.
