"My name is Kiesha McFadden and I’ve worked with Geneva for almost 6 years.

My passion in life has always been, to help others. What better way, than by helping my family and friends achieve the American dream of home ownership Now my passion has embarked me on another journey. (No, I’m not quitting)

I was recently nominated for Woman of the Year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Arizona.  I’m honored to accept the nomination.

As some of you may know, cancer research and treatment is a cause close to my heart. I’ve lost many due to cancer and I’ve also witnessed many miracles due to cancer research. With that said, I’m dedicating this campaign and running in honor of Irma A. Griffin. I met Mrs. G (Irma) my freshman year of high school. She was not only my dance teacher, but she was my mentor, my supporter and a “Mom” to many of us. While dealing with personal things at home, Mrs. G was there for me. She kept me focused and my eye on the prize. (Graduation). If it wasn’t for this incredible woman. I would not be the woman and mother I am today.

Mrs. G was always a fighter, on and off the dance stage. While I may be running for Woman of the Year – she was absolutely The Woman and Mom of the Year to many of us! On May 18, 2016 Mrs. G lost her fight to cancer and was called to the angels. I know that she’s always with us, and because of inspiring woman like her and this campaign, we can fund and raise money for more cancer research and put an end to this horrible disease.

Fun Fact: Did you know that chemotherapy was originally developed to treat blood cancers like Leukemia? Not only that, but in the last decade almost 40% of all cancer drugs approved by the FDA have first been approved for blood cancers? Mrs. G is my inspiration, but the work of LLS is why I am raising funds now!

My goal is to raise $160,000 in the next ten weeks.  I’m working with a group of incredible people on #TeamInandOut (In with Cures, Out with Cancer). I will be having quite a few fundraisers to also help me raise money. Below are a few of other ways you can help me out.

Will you be part of this team and consider a donation of $500 today? Campaign starts March 29th.

You can make a difference by making a tax deductible donation in one of several ways:

  1. You can donate online at  http://pages.mwoy.org/az/az18/kmcfadden
  2. You can mail a check to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the enclosed envelope with my name in the memo line, or
  3. You can fill out the enclosed insert with your credit card info and return it in the envelope as well!

Gratefully, -Kiesha
